In 2nd grade, my class went to see a movie about
Jesus. The scene of Jesus on the cross saying,
It is finished, really touched my heart and
will forever remain in my memory. At that point,
I realized how much God loved me. Around the age
of 12, shortly after my parents divorced, I began
reading my Bible and having a serious devotional
time each day. Often times, I would take the
early bus to school so that I could go to mass (I
was Catholic at the time and went to a Catholic
school) before school started. In high school, I
became very active in my youth group and in my
church. I taught VBS, worked at the soup kitchen,
played the organ for our services, ect I was
doing a lot of Christian things, but I had never
made Jesus the Lord of my life. On February 15,
1990, I was saved, though I believe I was in the
process of being saved from early on. I then
began to continue to grow in the Lord. I am a
member of the Franklin Church of Christ where my
husband is the minister of Group life and
Spiritual Formation. Together, we lead small
groups to bring healing to those who have been
wounded by the abandonment and abuse that comes
from living in this fallen world. |
