Stepping Out onto the Runway

Start planning your wardrobe now for this season's hottest fashion event. Friday, November 4th, from 6:30-9:30pm, the GCA cheerleading squad will step out under the bright lights of the runway to showcase the latest trends in fall women's wear. Headed by coach Gretchen Dillard (who herself will be modeling), the GCA Fashion Show provides each cheerleader with the chance to walk proudly for a cause. "I was approached by Michelle Peters, owner of Coffeehouse Five, with a dream to help our squad," Dillard explains. "The money will be used to pay for our new uniforms. Any extra will be used to help with homecoming decorations and theme nights."

The clothing line of choice? Jen Daisy, a local boutique that has carved a niche in the Southside clothing market, offering fashionable designs at a moderate price and designed for women of all shapes and sizes. "I am most excited that two local businesses are willing to support our program and invest in the girls," Dillard explains. "I am also excited that we will have the funds to plan more fun activities to involve the student body and fire the basketball team up for their games!"

Be sure to check out the varsity cheerleading squad, including Coach Dillard and GCA's very own Ms. Taryn Linton and Mrs. Jen Teike, this Friday on the runway.
