Coffee, Camping and Books: Meeting Mrs. Randall

You may have heard the name “Mrs. Randall” floating around the hallways of Greenwood Christian Academy. For those of you who may not know the name, the Cougar Chronicles news team has the inside scoop on everything you need to know about our new high school/middle school principal.

Mrs. Randall is no stranger to high school. She was at Kingsway Christian for 15 years before coming to GCA, where she taught in a variety of classroom settings and at different grade levels.. She earned her administrative license 3 years ago, and last year was an intern principal. After that, she submitted over 40 applications to various schools before answering the call to GCA.

"I would love to see the school thrive in academics, sports, and fine arts," explained Mrs. Randall when asked about her vision for the school. And because GCA was already a well-run, growing school, Mrs. Randall said there was little need for "rebuilding."

But how does our new principal spend her free time away from school? She has a few hobbies, including reading (she tries to read a book a week), camping, biking, and the outdoors in general. Also, she is in love with Starbucks coffee. But more than anything, Mrs. Randall said that family is very important to her. "I have an amazing husband who reminds me daily that God is my Father." She also has twin boys, one daughter, and three grandchildren, with one more on the way.

When asked to offer simple advice to GCA this year, Mrs. Randall didn't hesitate: “Step out of your comfort zone. Try new things. In everything you do, do it for Christ. When you start something, follow it all the way through. Finish what you started!”
