Christmas 5K Walk/Run  

Join the Rotary Club of Greenwood and GCA for a day of food, fun, and activities on December 17th. Bring your running shoes, dogs in reindeer costumes, and your favorite ugly sweater for the first annual Christmas 5K in Greenwood.

Race registration starts at 8:30 in the GCA auditorium. The first 300 adults (and teens) get a FREE 5 piece Santa Suit for the race.

Pick up your packet and get a cup of Coffeehouse Five coffee. 

We will have an Ugly Sweater contest followed by a Best Dressed Pet contest after registration ends and then it's on to the race.

 Schedule of Activities

  • 8:30-9:45 am Registration at GCA

Coffee for purchase from Coffeehouse Five. 

  • 9:00 am Ugly Sweater Contest  

Winner receives a $10 gift card.

  • 9:30 am Best Dressed Pet Contest

Winner receives a $10 gift card.

  • 10:00 am  Race Start

  • 8:30 -12:00 pm Food Trucks located on the GCA campus

  • 8:30 -10:00 aM get your picture with Santa

  • 8:30 -12:00 PM  Student Council will wrap boxed gifts.

    • $2 if it is smaller than a shoebox and

    • $4 if it is is bigger than a shoe box.

 You will need to fill out a separate registration form for each person participating. Note that only the first 300 adults and teens who register will receive a Santa suit to keep. We will make every effort to accommodate but we have a limited number of suits and sizes available.

Adults  $25

Children 8-17 $10

Children 7 and under are free

Ugly Sweater Entry  $5

Best Dressed Pet Entry  $5

1st 300 adults and teens to registration get a free 5 piece Santa Suit

The Race Route

  • Start at Averitt Road and Worthsville Road 
  • North on Averitt Road to Freedom Park south entrance
  • Lap around the trail of Freedom Park
  • Out the north entrance to Freedom Park 
  • Back to Averitt Road north of the new Middle School
  • South on the existing path in front of the new Middle School
  • Then the intersection of Averitt Road and Stop 18
  • East on Stop 18 to the Fire Station 
  • South on the existing trail pathway to Worthsville Road 
  • West on Worthsville Road to the intersection of Averitt Road and Worthsville Road
  • Finish at the intersection of Worthsville Road and Averitt Road

 

Proceeds of this race will go to scholarships for students in Greenwood Schools, Whiteland Schools, and at Greenwood Christian Academy.
