academics

GCA students in 1st through 4th grade receive a strong academic foundation in the core areas of the curriculum, including Bible, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies, which will ensure their success in the next steps of their educational journey. In addition to these core areas, students engage in special offerings such as art, choir, physical education, STEM and Spanish. There is a joy and excitement for learning as students are engaged in creative learning opportunities from a biblical perspective led by an amazing team of teachers.  Instruction is differentiated to meet the individual learning needs of each student, acknowledging the uniqueness in which God has created each child.  Our Lower School offers excellence in academics while laying a firm foundation in Christ, developing a biblical worldview, and equipping lower school students to serve Him.

BIBLE courses

We strive to encourage your student in developing a biblical worldview from a young age. From phonics to science, our lower school academics teach students to recognize God daily. We help students understand how their faith connects with not only school but every area of life. Our teachers commit to fostering a secure and trusting environment in which students can build lasting relationships. Above all, the GCA lower school academics focus on character just as much as competency. We desire to see your student grow in Christian maturity.

Bible buddies

Bible Buddies pairs 6th-12th grade “big buddies” with preschool-5th grade “little buddies”. Each month, students meet for a class period to focus on a project, activity, or game. Students have packed care packages for patients at Riley Hospital, discussed their favorite Bible verses, joined in school-wide pep rallies, and painted stones to outline the school’s sidewalks.

With Bible Buddies, students have the opportunity to build relationships with other age groups and between the North and South campuses. These relationships lead to the tight-knit community that defines GCA.
