Academics

As students enter middle school in 5th grade and proceed through 8th grade, they will have access to a full array of academic courses. Students can also participate in fine arts and technical electives to better prepare for high school. Our teachers strive to teach in a way that shows students the "why" behind each lesson. Our middle school students are encouraged each day to be relentless in their pursuit of Christ, in their pursuit of excellence in the classroom, and in their pursuit of relationships with their family, peers, and teachers.

"We want to expose our kids to walking a Christian life outside the walls of our building." — Mr. Dunn, Middle School Teacher

BIBLE

Middle school students at GCA experience biblical permeation first hand. Their classes start with prayer and devotions, setting the tone for the rest of the school day. Alongside traditional Bible classes, students also attend chapel on campus. We present students with the tools to craft a solid biblical foundation for their lives. Rather than plugging a Bible lesson into every class period, teachers strive to inspire students to think critically and actively pursue godliness. Our goal is for students to know that they have advocates in their teachers, and more importantly, that they have an advocate in Christ.

BEYOND BORDERS

Greenwood Christian Academy students are encouraged to take advantage of educational opportunities not only in the classroom, but also beyond the borders of our school building by applying classroom knowledge to real life situations.  In addition to local opportunities in the Greenwood and Indianapolis areas, students at GCA have two key opportunities to expand and apply their learning  beyond the walls of our school, beyond the borders of Indiana and beyond the borders of the United States.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AT gREENWOOD cHRISTIAN ACADEMY

GCA encourages students to be creative within business to the glory of God. GCA hosts a shark tank style pitch day where students research, build, and pitch their innovative idea to a panel of business owners in the community.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
— Philippians 2:14-16 (NIV)
