middle school

Grades 5 - 8

As your student enters middle school at Greenwood Christian Academy, he or she will have access to a full array of academic courses. Students can also participate in fine arts and technical electives to better prepare for high school. Our teachers strive to integrate these various subjects in a way that shows students the "why" behind the learning. We keep our ratio of students to staff small, which allows us to invest in students and fulfill their holistic needs. In addition, we encourage our staff to provide mentorship both inside and outside the classroom. Students know that as they pursue excellence in their middle school studies, they have the support of their instructors.

"We want to expose our kids to walking a Christian life outside the walls of our building." — Mr. Dunn, Middle School Teacher

Middle school students at GCA experience biblical permeation first hand. Their classes start with prayer and devotions, setting the tone for the rest of the school day. Alongside traditional Bible classes, students also attend chapel on campus. We present students with the tools to craft a solid biblical foundation for their lives. Rather than plugging a Bible lesson into every class period, teachers strive to inspire students to think critically and actively pursue godliness. Our goal is for students to know that they have advocates in their teachers, and more importantly, that they have an advocate in Christ.

Greenwood Christian Academy students are encouraged to take advantage of educational opportunities not only in the classroom, but also beyond the borders of our school building by applying classroom knowledge to real life situations.  In addition to local opportunities in the Greenwood and Indianapolis areas, students at GCA have two key opportunities to expand and apply their learning  beyond the walls of our school, beyond the borders of Indiana and beyond the borders of the United States.

MS trip

GCA encourages students to be creative within business to the glory of God. GCA hosts a shark tank style pitch day where students research, build, and pitch their innovative idea to a panel of business owners in the community.

Meet the Principal

Angelique Randall joined the GCA family in 2016 as the MS/HS principal. Randall received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan, and received her Principal License in Educational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan, as well. GCA is so blessed by Mrs. Randall’s leadership and service to the school. Her desire to encourage and inspire every member of the GCA family is best understood in her outlook on Christian education. She notes, “I believe the aim of education is to enrich the lives of students while helping them become articulate, critical thinkers and lifelong learners who are socially responsible, spiritually equipped, active citizens of the world.”

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
— Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)
